Foot & Ankle Assessment

Foot and ankle pain can have many causes - and treating symptoms without understanding the root problem often leads to frustration and delayed healing. A Foot & Ankle Assessment is a comprehensive evaluation designed to identify the underlying cause of your concern and guide the most appropriate treatment plan. Whether you’re dealing with pain, changes in walking, recurring issues, or simply want clarity, our goal is to provide clear answers and a thoughtful path forward.

How It Works

Comprehensive History & Discussion

We begin by listening. This includes a detailed review of your symptoms, activity levels, footwear, medical history, and any previous treatments. Understanding how and when a problem developed is key to accurate diagnosis.

Physical & Gait Examination

A thorough foot and ankle exam is performed, including joint movement, muscle strength, alignment, and skin and nail health. When appropriate, we assess how you walk and stand to identify biomechanical contributors to your symptoms.

Clear Diagnosis & Plan

You’ll leave with a clear explanation of our findings and a personalized treatment plan. This may include in-clinic treatment, orthotics, footwear recommendations, exercises, referrals, or reassurance when no intervention is needed.

Who This Assessment Is For

A Foot & Ankle Assessment is appropriate if you are experiencing: Foot or ankle pain (acute or ongoing)

• Heel pain or plantar fasciitis symptoms

• Changes in walking or balance

• Sports or overuse injuries

• Pediatric gait or developmental concerns

• Recurrent nail, skin, or pressure issues

• Diabetes-related foot concerns

• Uncertainty about whether orthotics are needed

• A problem that “just isn’t getting better”

You do not need a referral to book an assessment. Please see our Foot Conditions section for a more detailed look at different ailments.
