Health Coverage

Effective January 1, 2002, the BC Ministry of Health removed podiatric medical services from coverage under the Medical Services Plan (MSP).

Most employer-sponsored extended health insurance plans include coverage for podiatric care. Please confirm your specific coverage details with your plan administrator before your appointment.

Dr. Riar Foot & Ankle Clinic accepts Visa, Mastercard, Apple Pay, and Interac for payment.

    A:

    Yes, we have on site, underground pay parking available at our building. Additionally, we have street parking around the hospital campus.

    Yes, our entire building is wheelchair accessible.

    Yes – please ask our staff to put your name on our cancellation list and we will contact you should an appointment become available.

    A small percentage of our patients do qualify for premium assistance and are partially subsidized, but the majority of patients are not. We will check your coverage at our office. This is why we need your Care Card / BC Services Card.

    If you have an extended health plan (ex. Blue Cross), you can contact them directly and inquire about your coverage. We will supply you with the necessary paperwork and receipts for you to send into your insurance company so that you can get reimbursed.

    Email correspondence is not a secure and confidential way to communicate your personal clinical information. Thus, email communication is strictly for making, changing, or cancelling appointments or for non-urgent post-op questions. If you have a lot of clinical questions, it’s best to make an appointment and discuss them in person.
